A car is blocking you in: what to do

Short answer

First check the windshield for a Bip sticker or contact. If there is a Bip sticker, point your phone camera at the QR code and message the owner in one tap — no app needed. If there is no sticker, enter the licence plate in the Bip app. If the owner does not answer and you cannot wait, call 102.

Step by step

  1. Don't touch the carHonking, pushing or touching the wheels only makes things worse. The owner may be back in a couple of minutes.
  2. Look at the windshieldMany drivers leave a sticker or contact behind the glass. A Bip sticker has a QR code and a short code.
  3. Scan the Bip stickerPoint your phone camera at the QR code and a page opens. Choose “I can't get out, please move”. The owner is notified right away and never sees your number.
  4. Message by licence plateEnter the plate in the Bip app and choose a ready-made message. If the owner is on Bip, it arrives right away. If not, leave a message: if the owner joins within 7 days, it reaches them and we let you know.
  5. No answer — 102If the owner can't be found and you can't wait, call the police (102).

Questions

Can I find out the owner's phone number?

No. Bip never shows a number to anyone — not to you, not to the owner. Messages and calls go through Bip.

Do I need to install the app?

With a sticker, no — your phone camera is enough. To message by licence plate and get a reply, you need the Bip app.

Is it paid?

No. Messages, calls and replies are free and will stay that way.

What if someone keeps messaging?

One person can send one owner at most three messages a day. The owner can block any sender in one tap — and the sender never finds out.
